Poetry from The Well

Sidewise

Beside the window

graceful leaves stick to taut branches,

blushing before they leap

and tumble down.

When they lie together

in layers, I will still be here

suspended alongside

sleepy branches.

To what cling ripe worries,

those timeless coffins,

that linger inside of sleep,

suffocating softer thoughts?
