Poetry from The Well

Blood-Red Moon

Bloody moon high

above storm clouds,

red and regal

as your clenching heart.

Hail crunches under tires.

Spring’s rabbits huddle

in glistening bushes.

Above the storm

the moon is round

like your pupils

stretching to see

the dark road.
